Childhood Memory # 4

There was a boy my age (I think I was 5 or 6) who lived on my street who was always picking on my little brother. I kept telling him to leave my brother alone, (I was very protective) but he would just laugh and continue his torments. Sooooo I told him, “If you don’t stop picking on my brother I am going to ‘beat the tar’ out of you”. Coming home from school one day soon after, I saw him, again, poking my little brother with a stick. I just saw red! I started running toward him. I don’t think he realized what he was soon going to be facing. I ran up to him, grabbed the stick throwing it off to the side and just ‘lit’ into him. We had a ‘knock down, drag out’ fight with hair pulling and whatever it took. I did beat the ‘tar’ out of him, and he never even thought about hurting my little brother again. In fact, he was pretty humiliated to be beaten by a girl. I am told, he still remembers it. I don’t remember anything about him after that. I did what I had to do and that was that, I guess.
